I have come across this amazing embroidery design company, called Embird, that specialises specifically in the creation of embroidery patches. They have been around since 1991 with their mission to be the top creators of embroidery patches on the face of the earth and I can assure you that they are certainly up there with the very best. To say the very least, this companies’ designs has taken my breath away and I am very eager to share some of their amazing embroidery designs with you.
Embroidery Patches – The Culture
According to Embird, each and everyone of their patches is not only a work of art, but is also a kind of culture. What captivates me about their amazing embroidery patches is that each and everyone of their embroidery patches seems to tell, what almost feels like an untold story. When looking at their amazing embroidery designs I know exactly what they mean when they say that each of their embroidery patches represents “a kind of culture”.
Embroidery Patches – Captivating The Teenage Market
What teenagers would usually say when they think of embroidery is that it is something that your nan would be doing while watching her favourite soaps on television. And especially when it comes to teenage boys, the last thing they would want to be associated with is embroidery, as that is something they believe is something girls keep themselves busy with and would be way too feminine for them to be associated with.
However, when it comes to embroidered patches teenage boys seems to forget that embroidered patches contains the word embroidery and not only are these embroidered patches incredibly popular amongst teenagers, but is part of their culture as it represents what they associate themselves with in their daily lives.
Although embroidered patches appeals to everyone, I would say without a shadow of a doubt that embroidered patches certainly is the most popular amongst teenagers. Why is that you may ask? Keep reading and look at the amazing embroidery designs I am about to share and you will soon understand.
The Tactical Patch
If you have a teenage boy in the house and you have not heard of Black Ops 4 then you must be sleeping under a rock. Well in this tactical first person shooter game you unlock different weapons, tactical gear, but yes also cammos for your weapons and different badges (aka embroidered patches) that you can add to your clothing or tactical gear.
Teenagers spend a lot of money to buy all these badges, cammos etc. in order to have the coolest looking character in the game. It is just natural that teenagers would like to do likewise in real life and therefore to buy tactical embroidered patches to attach to their clothes.
Besides Black Ops 4, do not forget about paint balling that gives teenagers that satisfaction of simulating what they do on Black Ops 4 in real life. You will also notice that many paintball companies follow Black Ops 4 to a tee and will even try and replicate some of the scenes in Black Ops 4 and this of course will include adding cool looking embroidered patches to their tactical gear.
The Fashion Patch
When I think of the fashion embroidery patch the first thing that comes to mind is the teenage skateboard culture and amongst the slightly older generation, the biker community comes to mind.
Thinking about it a bit more I can also see how the fashion embroidery patch appeals to metal heads and the rock music industry. And do not forget about those with a more artistic streak that likes to embroider their clothes with a variety of embroidery patches that gives expression to their creative artistic side and tells their stories of what their lives are all about, without having to say a word.
Glow In The Dark Patch
Now who does not like Marvel and DC comics? Embird created amazing Marvel and DC superhero glow in the dark embroidery patches, which is especially rated as “super cool” amongst the younger generation.
When it comes to the slightly older generation I will not be surprised if these superhero embroidery patches forms part of the fulfillment of fantasies, of should we say, a more adult kind of nature :)
Stand Out From The Crowd
Embroidery patches allows you to stand out from the crowd as you are able to customise your clothing. Nike, Superdry, Hollister etc. mass produce so it comes as no surprise that you and your mates might end up wearing the exact same clothing, especially when shopping from the same local stores.
Being able to customise your clothing with your own embroidery patches of choice will certainly make sure you stand out from the crowd and enable you to customise your clothes according to your own style and personality.
Conclusion
Next time your teenage boy pulls his nose up when seeing you slave away on your unique embroidery designs, then simply show him these amazing embroidery patches from Embird and he will soon change his story; take out some time from playing Black Ops 4 (BO4) and beg you to buy him some super cool and trendy embroidery patches.
Ps. If you also think their designs are incredible or you know of a company that designs even more awesome embroidery patches than they do, then we would surely like to hear from you in the comments section below. Or even better, what about the possibility of Embird designing amazing unique embroidery patches for your embroidery business?
In the near future I will create an article explaining how you can create your own awesome machine embroidery patches at home.

A very well laid out article. Very informative and explaining the product well.
Thank you so much Gary for your interest and I am glad that you found the article informative. If you have any questions or anything that I could help you with, then please feel free to get in touch at any time.
I used to run a Star Trek club with 3 friends back in the 90s called Starbase Ireland. Two of us were the creative team and we published the club magazine, created passports, t-shirts, stickers, badges and other stuff that gave our members a strong sense of belonging.
We wanted to create something different and after seeing some embroidered patches, came up with the idea of designing our own circular club patch. We had a company in the UK make the patches for us. They went down a storm and people were proud to stitch them onto their coats and bags. We were blown away.
There’s no doubt that a uniquely designed embroidery patch will add that touch of specialness whether you choose to display it on clothing or keep it hidden in a drawer!
Gary, what an awesome story! :) Who did not like Star Trek back in the day and I am sure these are fond memories that would probably stay with you for the rest of your life. Yes, a “strong sense of belonging” reiterates the idea of embroidery patches that has that ability to create a kind of culture, as was the case with your Starbase Ireland club. Thanks so much for sharing. This was indeed a very interesting story.
I love the look of your website! Your logo is very good too. I am ex-military so I can appreciate the patches you all make and sell. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for your very kind words, Shawn. My dad used to be special forces (more specifically part of the secret service) and I can remember those embroidered patches on his military gear as he stood fully dressed in the kitchen before leaving the house, us not knowing where he is going or when he would be back. The closest I ever got to military gear is playing Black Ops on Xbox or when playing paintball with my mates. :)
At some point military service used to be an obligation straight after leaving school, but I was lucky that this practice got discontinued just before I left school. My dad however prepared my brother and I beforehand so we would be ready when obliged to join the military after finishing school, so he taught us from a very young age how to shoot a rifle. My dad is seriously one of the most amazing people I have ever met and I have so much to be grateful for towards him for what he has taught me over the years.
Although my dad does not agree with us, my brother and I have so much admiration for him that we often say to each other that there is nothing that dad cannot do. This is because my dad has amazing ability in so many areas of life. Any mechanical issues with your car, no problem. You want an extension build onto the house, no problem. He would build everything himself from the foundations, to the ceilings, to the installation of the cupboards, required plumbing, absolutely everything. He is one of those guys that will build you a brand new trailer from scratch out of nothing or if he feels a part he needs cost too much in the shop, he will actually create it himself or something similar that will do the job.
On top of that he grew up on a farm, so he knows everything about farming, horse riding and for many years also worked in the wine industry so knows everything about the creation of good wine and the marketing of it of course. The list of skills he possess just seems to go on and on.
This was certainly not the plan to say this much about my dad in reply to your comment, it just happened lol. But I think he absolutely deserves the public praise and testimony. I think it is incredibly important to have respect and admiration for your parents as I think it is only later in life that we realise how much they really care for us and how much they have sacrificed.
Oh WOW! That is very very cool! I always find some cool patches on my jeans. I will also show this to my friends! The glow in the dark patches are so cool, such a creative thing, but i just never saw it before. Thank you for sharing this.
You are welcome. Yes, when I saw the embroidered patches from this company I also thought they are amazing and the reason why I decided to do a shout out for this company.
Wow, these are some amazing designs. Love those night glow patches! To be honest, I have never used one of these before. But now I am curious and would love to give it a try.
So where can I find the webshop for these lovely products? Do they ship worldwide?
Thanks for sharing this well written article with us.
Yes, this company’s designs are quite amazing and the reason I decided to do a shout out for this company. Strangely enough this company is also called Embird and you can find them in two places. You can find them on their website https://myembird.com or alternatively they sell on Ali Express and their shop can be found here https://embird.aliexpress.com/store/3130014 They ship their products either from China or from the USA and what is more is that their products are super cheap. A lot of their embroidered patches cost less than $3. I am actually also about to order some embroidered patches from them. I absolutely love the embroidered patch on Saint Michael as I have a friend called Michael and I think it will be so cool to buy him one of those patches to put on his jacket. I am just not sure yet whether to get the heat sealed ones or the velcro ones. I might try out both and see which ones would work best for me.
I really enjoyed your article about the Embird embroidered patches. Very well written and it has a way of grabbing my attention. I never really thought about these types of patches, but have seen some really cool machine embroidered patches done at the flea markets; mostly on hats, jackets and book bags.
This is such a great Christmas idea, especially as stocking stuffers.
I don’t have any sons, but I do have grandsons and grand daughters. I’ll bookmark you page for later reference.
Thanks so much for sharing this.
Best wishes,
Devara
Dear Devara. Many thanks for taking the time to read my article. Yes, embroidery patches are pretty cool and trendy and surprisingly very popular amongst teenagers. Embroidery patches can be seen sewn on to college rucksacks , skateboard apparel, jeans, hats, military style jackets etc. The military style embroidery patches are especially popular amongst many teenage boys due to their obsession with first person shooter games like Counter Strike and Black Ops.
Which embroidery is your favorite?
Matthew, I must confess that at the moment embroidered patches are my absolute favourite. I just find it so trendy and I like the fact that apparel you buy can be made unique by being creative adding my embroidered patches of choice. As clothing, including a lot of your branded products like e.g. Superdry are mass produced it will not be unusual for you to end up with the exact same jacket as your friend or colleague and this is where the embroidered patches comes into its own right, as it enables you to put a unique twist on your garment of choice. Embroidery patches also make great gifts and can be quite personal. I e.g. have a friend called Michael and I bought him the military patch as displayed in the article “Saint Michael, Protect us”. He thought that it was super cool and although it was a lot more inexpensive than a lot of his other gifts he received for his birthday, this was one of his favourite gifts.
Okay, so I never heard of Black Ops 4 – silly me! My youngest son is 17, stuck with a PS3 because I don’t want to pay for the Internet twice, and he plays Black Ops 2! I bet he’d love a patch from the zombie mode of that game. lol
I have done a smidgen of embroidery, but I’m nowhere near this talented. Thank you for sharing!
Black Ops 2 is certainly a classic, in fact I still like to play it from time to time. I am sure he is salivating and dreaming about Black Ops 4 though as that is the latest release from the Black Ops series lol. I am not surprised to hear that the zombies section of Black Ops 2 is his favourite, haha. So many teenage boys are fascinated with zombies for one reason or another. Let us not even start talking about the zombie crates and the Black Ops zombie limited editions. I am convinced he would be over the moon with a zombie patch lol.
This site brings back a lot of memories. Growing up I did quite a bit of embroidery. Great site, thanks for showing this site with all the beauty of a special art. I thought embroidery was a lost art. I particularly liked the ‘Hand Embroidery ….. Going Knots!’.
